So now the dust has settled around the 2014 European Call Centre and Customer Service Awards , we thought this might be a good opportunity to share our thoughts on the event. The awards , one of the foremost in Europe, unites the most influential leaders within the contact centre and customer service industry and reward individuals and companies that have made a real impact to the industry in the last year. As sponsors of the Champagne Reception and After Awards party, we at HGS were witness from the start, to the team efforts and creativity that went into hosting this reputed program. And they were not in vain – we had a superb venue in the Old Billingsgate, with some splendid views of the river Thames and the London skyline. We were also rewarded with great weather which meant attendees could ‘hang around’ outside for as long as they wished and take in the views. And once inside, the ceremony went without a glitch
We had an additional reason to celebrate the night – as we were finalists in both ‘Best Large Contact Centre’ and ‘Business Leader of the Year’ categories. HGS has a culture of active participation in awards and benchmarking programs. We find they are a great way to showcase some of the fantastic partnerships we have built with our clients. They also allow us to benchmark our performance with some of the best customer service teams in the industry and learn from their experiences.
On an individual and team level, awards offer a great platform for recognising talent within our business. We all have an inherent desire for validation and recognition and these programs tap in to those needs of ours .We’ve found that getting shortlisted and winning awards not only cements team spirit, but boosts employee morale and drives peer recognition. And these can positively impact engagement, increase retention and help in further growth of the business.
Here is a short video from Megan Neale – our Executive Director for Transformation and Operations on why we are all for employee engagement and peer recognition. Congrats to all the finalists and the winners – we will see you next year at the European Awards!
