Remote work done right

With the global outbreak of the coronavirus, working from home as a safety measure has taken on increased importance. Whether you’re a work-at-home newbie or pro, there are some key tips to keep in mind to ensure you’re doing remote working right. 

First, make sure you keep communication channels open with your colleagues.  Work is more efficient if you stay connected and responsive to your co-workers, either via phone, email or video conference.  It’s better to over-communicate what you’re doing and adhere to clearly defined team expectations.

Second, avoid the temptation of giving in to distractions.  Remain focused on your tasks to ensure your delivery and performance isn’t impacted. 

Third, prioritize your daily tasks to focus on those that require urgent and immediate attention. Create a priority list you can share with your manager and work toward it.
