As a CFO, I try live up to the trust of various stakeholders through ethical leadership and business integrity. - Srinivas Palakodeti

Finance and I

Why Finance and I mix?

Finance has a great symmetry – that of debits and credits. Having come from an engineering background, I find in it a structured science that deals with numbers and forces you to be disciplined. Maybe that is why finance chose me.

Motto I live my quarters by...

What one delivers four quarters or a year from now is what I focus on… The quarter gone by, even if successful, is no longer important.

Being CFO to me means....

The CFO is much more than a number-cruncher. He is the custodian of financial integrity of an organisation… Living up to the trust of various stakeholders through ethical leadership and business integrity are principles that I live by.

When I switch any company I would like to be remembered for…

My ability to create something with long-lasting benefit; that the company was in a better and bigger shape than when I joined.

Next pit stop…

As Master Oogway in Kung Fu Panda says, there are no accidents… everything in life happens with a purpose.

Leadership goals…

I believe that the finance function is much more than debits and credits or inward-looking. With all the change that is happening today and with digital technologies coming in, I want the function at HGS to be a technology-led team that can leverage its expertise to partner with Operations to build new business opportunities.
