Hinduja Global Solutions signs Top Golfer, Anirban Lahiri, as its brand ambassador

Hinduja Global Solutions Limited (HGS) (Listed on NSE & BSE, India), has signed Asia’s No. 2 and India’s No.1 Golfer, Anirban Lahiri as its brand ambassador. He was the Runners Up at the Venetian Macau Open, 2015 held this month.



Known in today’s world golfing circuit as the ‘new face of Indian golf ’, Anirban has in the last few years shot up the world rankings to secure a place for himself amongst the Top 50 golfers in the world. A feat that has been achieved by only one other Indian before him - Jeev Milkha Singh.

About Anirban Lahiri:
Anirban Lahiri is a well-established professional golfer, based in Bangalore. He is currently creating a name for himself as the “new face of Indian golf” and has jumped to 39th in the World Golf Ranking for 2015 with his record-breaking performances.

The son of an Army officer turned pro in 2007 and joined the Asian Tour the following year. He picked up his first victory in 2011 at the Panasonic Open followed by the SAIL-SBI Open in 2012. His best finish on the Order of Merit came in 2014 with his maiden overseas win on the Asian Tour - CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters, which he later followed up with a win at the Venetian Macau Open. Lahiri broke into the Top 100 in the Official World Golf Ranking for the first time in March 2014, following a consistent season which included two victories on the Asian Tour. Lahiri has also had a lot of success on the Professional Golf Tour of India, where he has won eleven events and the Order of Merit in 2009.

In February 2015, Lahiri claimed his first official win on the European Tour at the Maybank Malaysian Open, followed by the Hero Indian Open. The two wins shot Lahiri into the Top 50 of the Official World Golf Ranking and qualifying him for the 2015 Masters Tournament. He is the third Indian national to play in the Masters, after Jeev Milkha Singh and Arjun Atwal.

At the PGA Championship, which took place at Whistling Straits in August 2015, Lahiri finished in a tie for fifth place in the tournament and set a new record for the highest finish by an Indian professional golfer in a major.

Anirban was a part of the International Team that played the President's Cup in October 2015 in South Korea. He also participated in the web.com tours in September 2015‎ and has earned his PGA card for 2016.
